Mini Single Oco Geodes

Oco Geodes are typically small geodes that are filled with bands of agate and quartz crystals often found in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Many of these are obtained when farmers plow their fields. The turning of dirt brings these beautiful specimens to the Earth’s surface!

Agate is a combination of chalcedony and quartz. It is easily recognizable by its multitude of colors and banding. Some of the most common formations of agates occur in geodes. These are cavities of gas that are eventually filled with fluids high in silica, allowing the formation of agate to take place. These geodes are then cut and polished to show their banding and crystals within them to be put on display. Agates have been used for decorative purposes as far back as 5000 years ago. Agate specimens are commonly dyed unnatural colors such as blue, purple, and pink to help showcase their banding.

Agates are often considered a stone of courage and strength. It is used to enhance mental functions while keeping us clear in both the mind and heart.

Commonly found in Brazil, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and the United States.

Please note: Crystals and minerals can vary in color, pattern, shape, and appearance. Photos may be representative rather than showing the exact item you receive. When a specific specimen is listed, its stated weight and measurements still apply.
